His arm slid to her waist and he held her like that as they walked. Like that it was much more obvious that she was with him and he knew no man would approach her seeing Thaddeus holding her like that. He noticed the shade of pink appearing on her cheeks and he couldn’t help but smile. She was so beautiful, the admiration of men was something she would have to deal with her whole life. “Don’t worry, they’ll stay away” he gave her a kiss on the cheek and they kept walking. “Where would you like to go, love?”

A smile bloomed on her face when he held her close to him and then gave her a kiss on the cheek. Her eyes couldn’t help but wander to see the awestruck faces of nearby men; clearly they were envious of Thaddeus. Syrena looked up at him, her eyes bright. “Do you think we could find a castle anywhere near here? I’ve always wanted to see one.” She turned her gaze dreamily at the sky, her head now resting against him. Her hand then laid upon his own that claimed her waist, and gave it a slight squeeze, just for pleasure.

“Well, I’ve only been here once before and I don’t recall there were any castles around, love” Thaddeus answered. He really wanted her to have a nice time and he wanted to maker her happy. Then he thought of something. “Though I remember there was an abbey somewhere around. It was so big and beautiful. It’s not properly a castle, but it almost looks like one. Would you like to go there?”

Her heart slightly sank at the fact that there wasn’t a castle. Syrena thought there would be after all she heard while in the tavern. Unless she mixed Scotland with England since she’s never been there before. However her hopes were raised when he informed her of an abbey that would be close enough as castle. “Oh yes I would love to!” she smiled, her eyes bright and filled with excitement. “I must’ve gotten confused that there were castles here. Are they in England?”

Thaddeus took her by the arm once he got to her side “Stay with me” he said in a low voice. The place seemed much calmer than other ports such as those in France, England and not to mention in the Caribbean, but still Syrena had managed to get many eyes on her without really trying. She was a beautiful woman and all men could notice it so Thaddeus wanted to keep her safe and close to him while they were off his ship.

She wasn’t surprised by Thaddeus’ action because she knew how protective he was of her. Syrena gladly held onto to his arm, remaining close to him as possible. Already she felt the eyes of the Scottish men upon her, making her turn a slight shade of pink since she didn’t know how they acted. By the looks of it, they all seemed to be somewhat calm and neutral, but then again, looks could be deceiving. Syrena held on tighter but kept her cool; she wanted to give off a strong impression.

After practicing for an hour, Syrena felt more energetic, but apparently she wouldn’t be so tomorrow, according to Thaddeus. She merely laughed at that. She gave him back his sword with a proud smile. “Thank you,” she said, cheeks turning back to the usual shade of pink at his comment. Then she went up to him, and her hand slipped under his belt, her smile altering to a devilish grin. “Thank you for teaching me how to handle your sword.” Suddenly, Syrena looked over at the land they had just ported by. “Oh look! Land! Time to go!” Before Thaddeus knew it, she dashed off to go over to the railing, admiring the green land that was Scotland, a tiny smirk on her face.

The sword-fight practice with Syrena made him completely forget that they had reached land already. When she mentioned that, Thaddeus suddenly returned to reality, remembering they were in Aberdeen now, and that he had gone there for business. This wasn’t merely a holiday trip, Thaddeus had traveled there to find his curse-breaker. Or try to do it, at least. When Syrena went away, he quickly followed her. Aberdeen’s port was just as any other port: bursting with sailors and pirates, and even though she was already learning how to handle a sword that didn’t mean she would be able to defend on her own -yet- so he wanted to look after her.

Gazing over at the new lively landscape, Syrena gathered up her skirts before getting off the ship. She stopped once she got on land to wait for Thaddeus. The port was somewhat crowded as she waited, but it kept her curiosity high so her wandered around. A few people near her spoke loud enough for Syrena to hear the Scottish accents which she thought sounded better than a French accent. Overall, she was excited to get to know the new land and be able to explore it.
